Description : Étienne Fermigier (1932–1973) was a French designer known for furniture, lighting, and industrial design. Trained at the École Boulle and École Nationale Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he founded the Meubles et Fonction Gallery with Pierre Perrigault in 1959. His designs are characterized by simple forms and a strong focus on function.
In 1957, Étienne Fermigier and his brother Claude developed a conceptual two-seat automobile for Panhard, known as the Spider. Original sketches, plans and photographs of the project are preserved in the Étienne Fermigier archive at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
